The images generated from mapping surveys can also be used for domestic or wild animal management.
The image to the right is a
property that appeared to have a high Kangaroo count. However, each time the
owner entered the site, the Kangaroos would hop away, hence it was difficult to
establish the population size.
The entire site was surveyed (70
hectares) and a site map was generated. The drone did not appear to disturb the
animals during the flight.
Upon reviewing the site map, the
Kangaroos could easily be identified and counted. The owner thought there were
as many as 50 Kangaroos present, however the survey showed that the actual population
number was 184.
Surveys and animal checks can be completed using high resolution or thermal imaging.
